✓ Registered with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors

✓ Sophie has lived experience with eating disorders and is fully recovered, so she understands what the recovery journey is like

✓ Online sessions - sessions from anywhere in New Zealand and worldwide.

This Is For You If...

  • You want a therapist who specialises in eating disorders - not a generalist counsellor who's "open to it"

  • You've tried therapy before and it didn't stick, or didn't go deep enough

  • You want structure and practical tools, not just "how does that make you feel"

  • You're carrying trauma, anxiety, or depression or other difficulties alongside your eating disorder, and want someone who understands how those interact

  • You're tired of quick fixes and want something that actually lasts

  • If any of that sounds familiar, keep reading — or skip ahead and book your free call now.

Your Therapist: Sophie

Registered Counsellor (NZAC) · Founder & Clinical Lead

I started this practice because of my own recovery from multiple eating disorders - and the gaps I fell through while getting there.

I trained across counselling, eating disorder recovery coaching, nutrition, and fitness, because I don't believe recovery is just psychological. It's behavioural, physical, emotional, relational, and about identity too.

In our sessions together, you're in the driver's seat.

I bring the clinical structure and the lived understanding of what this actually feels like from the inside - you bring you.

Full recovery is possible. I'm proof of it, and I'd be honoured to help you get there too.

What To Expect

Step 1: Free discovery call (30 minutes): A no pressure conversation about what's going on for you and whether individual therapy is the right starting point - or whether coaching, a combined approach, or a different service fits better.

Step 2: Your first session: We'll get to know your history, your patterns, and what recovery means to you specifically. No judgement, no assumptions about what your eating disorder "should" look like.

Step 3: Ongoing sessions, at your pace, tailored to your stage of recovery (see below). Weekly sessions common early on, sessions can space out as you stabilise.

Choose Your Path

Early Stage Recovery

For those just beginning recovery, unsure where to start, or feeling stuck in restrictive or disordered patterns.

We help you understand your cycles, stabilise eating behaviours, and build the foundations for recovery - without shame or pressure.

Mid Stage Recovery

For those who have started stabilising eating patterns and making progress, but still encounter challenges or fluctuating behaviours.

We help you strengthen coping strategies, address unhelpful habits, and increase confidence in your ability to make independent choices around food, body, and self.

This stage is about solidifying progress and preparing for long-term recovery.

Later Stage Recovery

For those who have made progress and are ready to move beyond their eating disorder, rebuild identity, and navigate life confidently.

We focus on consolidating progress, managing triggers, and strengthening long term coping and resilience.

Not sure which stage fits? That's exactly what the free call is for.

Want Extra Support Alongside Therapy?

Some clients find it helpful to combine individual therapy with eating disorder recovery coaching from Daisy, Lena or Sophie - practical, between-session support from people with lived experience of full recovery.

This isn't required, but it's available if you want more day-to-day support alongside your therapy sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have a "diagnosed" eating disorder to start?

No. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, suspect something's not right, or you're supporting recovery from disordered eating more broadly, you're welcome here.

Do I have to be based near you?
No - Sessions are 100% online via video call, so you can access specialist eating disorder support from anywhere in New Zealand or world wide.

I've tried therapy before and it didn't help. Will this be different?

Possibly the most common thing we hear. Generic counselling often misses the specific patterns and psychology of eating disorders. Our practice specialises in eating disorders specifically - and every clinician has lived through and fully recovered from one themselves.

How long does recovery take?

There's no fixed timeline — it depends on your stage, history, and goals. We'll talk through what a realistic path looks like for you on your free call.

What if I'm not ready to fully commit yet?

That's what the free 30 minute call is for. No pressure, no obligation - just a conversation.

Ready To Take The Next Step?
