Our Approach

Eating disorders are complex, so recovery is best approached comprehensively.

At Transformed Therapy New Zealand, we take a whole-process approach to recovery - addressing not just symptoms, but the underlying drivers that keep them in place.

Transform

Stage 3: Awareness and Alignment - Understanding the roots of your eating disorder

Stage 4: Nurturing Support - Building connection, boundaries, and support

Safety

Creating a physically and emotionally safe environment for our clients. This means establishing clear boundaries, providing a sense of predictability, and avoiding any practices that could re-traumatise.

Peer Support

We as coaches recognize the importance of connecting with people who have similar experiences, this is why we hire recovered coaches of all sizes.

Recovery can feel like such a lonely process and by  talking with people who have been there and understand, it  helps to foster a sense of belonging and hope.

Collaboration and Mutuality

We always involve our clients in the decision-making process when it comes to their treatment. This helps to empower our clients and restores a sense of control that might have been lost due to their trauma

Empowerment, Voice, and Choice

By providing our clients with choices and opportunities to voice their preferences, this helps empowering our clients in their healing journey can help them regain a sense of agency

This principle also focuses on building our clients up through acknowledging the internal and external resources they have when it comes to their recovery.
